Plan updates

Funding for the ONE-T Benefit Plan comes from the Ontario government:

The Ontario government allocates funding per FTE to member groups

That budgeted amount of money/FTE goes to the individual School Boards

 

➤  

School Boards contribute the money to the Plan to fund your benefits

 

The Trustees have the responsibility to review the Plan and available funding each year and determine if there are opportunities to improve the Plan or if changes are required to ensure Plan sustainability.

It’s an important balancing act: evaluating the Plan’s financial position to make sure benefits remain affordable and sustainable.

Effective September 1, 2024, there will be several Plan enhancements for
CAEAS-ECAB Members.

Mental health services

You and each eligible dependent will have more coverage for mental health services.

Enhanced coverage per person

$2,100 per
 benefit year

$3,000 per
benefit year

This is a combined maximum for all mental health services, including a psychologist, social worker, psychotherapist, and registered family therapist.

Hearing aids

You and each eligible dependent will have more coverage for hearing aids.

Enhanced coverage per person

$2,000 every
 60 months

$4,000 every
60 months

Support with smoking cessation

If you or an eligible dependent is trying to quit smoking, your Benefit Plan will cover up to $700 (lifetime maximum for you and each eligible dependent) – this covers expenses like counselling, nicotine replacement, and certain medications.

Botox treatment for Axillary Hyperhidrosis coverage

Botox is a clinically proven way to manage Hyperhidrosis. Your Benefit Plan will cover you and each eligible dependent for Botox injections to treat Axillary Hyperhidrosis via the FACET Drug Prior Authorization Program.
